A modern house designed with the “long cut” in mind: a long and beautiful ramp from the main to the upper level. Designed for full lifetime accessibility and also designed for you not to notice that fact, this home is profoundly unique. Everyone shares the ramp - it’s the only way up, no stairs. The site called for a southwesterly orientation, and the house opens to the views and sunshine on offer in that direction. On the street the house sits low and wide and private. A screen of windows at the entry invites visitors and friends to drop in. On the exterior warm tactile wood was chosen at ‘people level’ and maintenance-averse variegated metal standing seam siding on the harder to reach upper walls.
